New Backhoe 11/11/05 - 11/13/05

After a very long wait, and almost daily contact with the tractor dealership, we finally got our new backhoe and box blade. Immediately, we saw how much better this backhoe was. It was much bigger, with a much bigger bucket. Seeing them side by side made us realize how dinky the other one really was. Now this one was more wha we had been expecting.

The box blade was definitely better, too.

So, our entire weekend was spent trying out the new equipment. Rob made every good use of it, as you can see.

(As always, click on the picture to get a larger picture that you can see better)

We've had just a little rain, but you can see the grass is already beginning to grow.

Trying to get our new backhoe onto the tractor. Things just didn't want to line up correctly. We had to resort to using chains and come-alongs to pull it into place.(slideshow)

Here it is, finally on the tractor. Looks great! And you can tell how much more 'industrial' this one is. (slideshow)

When we took a closer look, we found out why it had been so hard to put on, and we found a few other problems.(slideshow)
